STEM Lab Teacher BPS

Contract: 190 Days

School Year: 2024-2025

Reports to: Primary School Principal

The STEM Lab Teacher will teach and facilitate a STEM curriculum in the STEM Lab at Barnwell Primary School and provide engaging hands-on STEM solutions for grades K-3. The teacher will lead the students in opportunities to develop and practice critical college and career readiness skills such as teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving. The activities assigned will require students to bring together their knowledge and skills from many content areas to explore problems and collaboratively complete projects.

Qualifications:

* Current South Carolina Teaching License

* Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in Science or Math

* Experience in researched-based instructional practices

* Proficiency with technology

General Responsibilities:

* Facilitate project-based learning that reinforces both academic math and science content.

* Provide experiences for students in grades K-3 with multimedia curricula consisting of tangible, kinesthetic activities, real-world applications, and career exploration in STEM career fields.

* Perform duties as assigned by the Principal.
